DSL Forum TR and WT standards specify
criteria necessary to ensure that a CPE product will consistently
and effectively perform their intended functions. Although these
standards provide design requirements, simply conforming to a standard
is not sufficient to ensure compatibility. In order to develop support
for TR-069, a complete understanding and mastery of the one hundred-page
DSL Forum TR-069 document must be accomplished. In addition to this
the thousands of pages of the TR-098, TR-104, TR-106, WT-107,
TR-110, TR-111, TR-135 TR-140, TR-142
and a large number of other specifications must be fully understood.
When Dimark speaks of TR-069,
we mean all related specifications and standards, currently encompassing
TR-069, TR-098, TR-104, TR-106, WT-107,
TR-110, TR-111, TR-135 TR-140, TR-142 and others. No
other company offers this complete coverage.
The key functions offered by these protocols is as follows:
- TR-069 provides the extensible, secure, communications layer,
while also providing basic gateway router and Wi-Fi configuration
and management functionality.
- TR-098 provides QoS functionality as well configuration profiles
to ease management and deployment.
- TR-104 and TR-110 combine to provide remote VoIP device configuration
and management
- TR-106 and TR-111 combine to allow the remote management of devices
on a LAN, even those using the private IP space behind a NAT gateway.
- WT-107 provides a data model for MoCA devices, as well as other
functionality
- TR-135 provides for the configuration and management of Set Top
Boxes STB). Note, unless the STB is an edge device, TR-106
and TR-111 support will also be required.
- TR-140 provides for the configuration and management of Network
Attached Storage (NAS).
Note, unless the NAS is an edge device, TR-106 and TR-111 support
will also be required.
- TR-142 provides for the configuration and management of PON devices.
Furthermore, TR-069, as a young standard, is still evolving. Efforts
by working groups to modify and enhance the protocol set are underway
that will require regular and ongoing monitoring and development
to maintain conformance with the specification.
